CBG is a lesser-known cannabinoid which has a lot of potential benefits. CBG has been shown to have anti-tumoral, anti-inflammatory and painkilling properties, as well as being antibacterial and having neuroprotective effects. CBG is the mother compound from which other cannabinoids such as Tetrahydro CBG (TH CBG), CBG A cannabigerol , CBGA CBG acid, CBGV CBG V Cannabigerol, THCV Tetrahydrocannabivarin are formed.
Potential medical benefits of CBG include treatment for acne, glaucoma, stimulating bone growth and even reducing the risk of Alzheimer’s disease.
Although research is still ongoing into how CBG works, it may well be that there could be many more medical uses for CBGPure CBG which have yet to be discovered. There are also anecdotal reports online from people who say they have used CBG successfully to treat their own conditions. But despite its potential health benefits, very few sites cover how to use CBG effectively as a medicine.
CBG History
CBG is a cannabinoid that was first found to be produced by the plant in 1966, but it wasn’t until 2009 that CBG was first discovered inside the human body as endocannabinoid CBGA CBG acid made from arachidonoyl-phosphatidylinositol . CBGA CBG acid is a lipid which has been known to play a role in signalling between cells and controlling cell division.
The medical potential of CBG arises from its ability to interact with receptors on immune cells, including one called GPR55, which appears to play a part in controlling inflammation as well as blood pressure and bone density. By using cannabis strains containing high CBG A cannabigerol levels, this is a CBG cannabinoid which could be used as an effective medicine. CBG has been shown to activate GPR55 CBG receptors, and it also activates CB2 CB cannabinoid receptors and TRPV1 TRP Vanilloid receptor 1 .
CBG CANNABINOID
Cannabigerolic acid or CBGa is an aromatic compound found in large amounts in all Cannabis plants. Inside the living cells of cannabis, enzymes break down this molecule and turn it into other cannabinoids e.g. THC Delta-9 Tetrahydrocannabinol & CBC Cannabichromene . This means that every cannabis plant has a CBGa molecule which is the mother cannabinoid which can be processed inside our bodies in 2 different ways to produce Delta-9 THC or CBC to give us medical benefits. CBGa CBG Acid CBGa CBG acid is an aromatic compound found in large amounts in all cannabis plants.

CBGa CBG acid is converted into THC via hydroxylation then decarboxylation when you smoke marijuana, but when you ingest it orally CBGa CBgA acid gets converted into CBD without any decarboxylation taking place.
We are familiar with 2 well known cannabinoids THC & CBD, where THC gets activated at Heat , while THCa Tetrahydrocannabolic acid does not contain any psychoactive properties when taken by mouth, CBGa CBG acid is the mother cannabinoid which can be processed inside our bodies to produce THC & CBD. CBG CBG acid gets converted into CBGa CBgA Acid when CBD or other cannabinoids are present in small amounts, thus CBGa CBgA is considered as a precursor molecule of THC and CBD.
Few things should be understood here that CBGA CBG acid has not decarboxylated yet so this means that all therapeutic properties of CBGa CBgA acid remains intact until we heat this compound at 220 degree Celsius when it becomes activated and releases carbon dioxide or CO2 . This entire process called decarboxylation occurs with different degrees depending upon whether you dry & cure your cannabis flowers right after harvesting them or process CBGa CBG acid at 220 degree Celsius to activate CBGa CBgA acid into CBGa CBG then THC then Delta-9 THC or CBGa CBGA CBG Acid Conversion Table
When you smoke weed, the heat converts CBGa CBGA CBD acid into Tetrahydrocannabinolic Acid or THCA which does not have any psychoactive properties when taken by mouth, but when you ingest it orally along with few other cannabinoids present in small amounts THCa will get converted into THC through decarboxylation and this whole process is known as Heat activated conversion of TetraHydroCannabinolic Acid or THCA to Delta-9 THC.
Similarly in our body we have an enzyme called FAAH Fatty Acid Amide Hydrolase enzyme which is present inside our CB1 CB2 CB Receptors and while CBGa CBG acid gets converted into THC, CBGa CBgA acid gets converted by this FAAH Enzyme into Arachidonic Acid or AEA which is harmful for our overall health. CBGa CBG acid can be ingested orally by adding it to any carrier oil like olive oil , hemp seed oil, grape seed oil , cbd vape oils etc. But still you need to understand how CBD works in your body before starting the treatment.
